On Friday, October 20, 2017, from 7 – 9 pm, Millikan Middle School held its’ annual talent show. Tickets were $5.00 each and at the door were $10.00. Students were able to show their amazing acts. The countless laughs, the loud cheering, and even tears, showed the audience had an amazing night. It was exciting for both the audience and the performers that were able to present their extraordinary.

Talents such as stand up comedy, singing, dancing, and even magic tricks were shown by different students from different grades. One of the dance acts being a Latin, ballroom showdown, performed by the two Melik- Bakhshyan siblings one named Aram, and the younger sister named Ruzanna showed their own creative dance. The unique and talented Alex Cane- Chilton and Jake Hydo wowed the crowed with their amazing magic tricks. And Lilly Zager hit all the perfect notes by performing a song originally sung by Adele called “Turning Tables”.

One of the main reasons Millikan Middle School held its annual talent show was to bring families and friends together. People learned to work and cooperate with others. For example, students from stage crew got to interact with the performers. Moving props after every act, changing back- drops, really showed they were a big team of one and were appreciated by the students on stage. Friends got together had countless hours of practice and had arguments, but at the end of the day united as one and performed dances.

The night of the talent show was a big night for both families and the performers. Performers were both nervous and excited about their chance of spotlight, but all at the same time of being supportive of their friends and group mates. Not only were the acts interesting, they reflected the performers personalities and their passions of what they love to do. Millikan Middle School hosted this event to bring friends memories they wouldn’t forget and to show the community of parents how talented their children really are.
